San Diego Surf Soccer Club has 26 coaches overseeing its teams participating in Junior Academy, US Soccer Development Academy and Elite Clubs National League— Director of Coaching Colin Chesters oversees the development and coaching of every team. Chesters has coached in the San Diego Surf Soccer Club for more than 15 years; prior to joining Surf he honed his coaching skills with the La Jolla Nomads (2 years) and SDSC Pegasus (1 year). In 2005, he was recognized as the Cal South Coach of the Year.

Prior to beginning his coaching career, Chesters played four years with Derby County in the English Premier League; three years at Crewe Alesandra in the English 3rd Division; three years with Northwich Victoria in the Conference League; and with Altrincham FC. Chesters was the leading scorer in the Conference League for two seasons and won the FA Trophy.
